Unique piece
Its name alludes to the first spiral Galaxy discovered by the French astronomer Charles Messier in 1773
- Lightning Ridge Dark Opal: 10.20 ct. Measures:18.7 x 13,2 x 7,1 mm. Certfied
Pattern: Dominant vivid multicolored red rolling flash pattern.
Origin: Allawah-Lightning Ridge (New South Wales, Australia). It was unearthed in 2019 in the Allawah Field just north of Lightning Ridge Township.
- Meteorite: Sikhote Alin specimen: 2,5 g. Between 3.5 and 4 billion years old. Date and place of meteorite fall:12 February 1947 in the Sikhote-Alin Mountains, Russia.
- Chemical group: Iron IIAB . Mass: 23 t
- Chemical composition: 93,3 % Fe, 5.8% NI, 0.42% Co, 0.46% P and 0.28% S, with traces of Ga ( galenium) , Ge (germanium) and Ir (iridium)
- Fall coordinates: 46º 09´36″ N 134º 39´12″
The back of the meteorite is coated with gold.
